Clinical Supervision

Supervision is more than just professional development—it’s a space for reflection, growth, and deepening your confidence as a therapist. Whether you're a new clinician looking for solid footing or an experienced therapist seeking a fresh perspective, clinical supervision offers the opportunity to refine your skills, navigate challenges, and stay connected to the heart of the work.

Supervision is available for both qualifying and independent practitioners, offered virtually with some in-person availability. Individual supervision sessions are one hour, while dyadic or group supervision runs for two hours with a maximum of four participants. Frequency is flexible, based on the needs of the therapist.

If you’re looking for a supportive, collaborative space to grow in your practice, let’s talk.

Josh Johnston is an experienced, trauma-informed therapist with over a decade of experience in couples therapy and individual therapy. He has trained directly with Sue Johnson, and his approach to supervision is deeply rooted in the principles of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). While not an EFT training program, supervision with Josh naturally incorporates EFT’s relational lens, while allowing space for the integration of other modalities and techniques.

Who is Supervision For?

  • Therapists working toward registration with the CRPO or other governing bodies.

  • New graduates seeking guidance and mentorship as they establish their practice.

  • Experienced therapists who want EFT-focused supervision to strengthen their work with couples and individuals.

Supervision can be tailored to your needs, whether through one-on-one sessions, dyadic supervision, or small-group consultation. Individual supervision is 60 minutes, while dyadic or group supervision is two hours with up to four participants.

Supervision is primarily virtual, with flexible scheduling to accommodate your practice.

Supervision Fees: $175/hour (individual or group, with group costs shared among participants).

Practicum Placements

Streams of Life offers a selective practicum placement for students who are ready to immerse themselves in the work of therapy with meaningful support and guidance.

Practicum students at Streams of Life can expect more than just meeting placement requirements. This is an opportunity to build confidence in your therapeutic skills, gain hands-on experience in client work, and deepen your understanding of EFT principles in practice. Students receive supervision, access to office space for in-person sessions when available, and administrative support through Jane App for scheduling and securely conducting online therapy. Additional readings, training recommendations, and opportunities for collaboration with other therapists are also part of the experience.
